OUR STORY

Borrowed Kitchen Bakery is owned and operated by husband-and-wife team Lacey and Kory Anders. The business began in 2010 at the Poulsbo Farmers Market, baking out of borrowed commercial kitchens, which inspired the name. After several years at markets, they opened a small storefront in 2011 and continued to grow.

Over time, the bakery expanded to include the Farmhouse Café, serving from-scratch breakfast and lunch until its closure in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. That same year, the business relocated and launched Farmhouse Foods, a frozen take-and-bake line inspired by the couple’s 1890s farmhouse in Kingston. The food reflects a back-to-your-roots approach, offering comfort food made with real, honest ingredients for easy grab-and-go meals.

Everything at the bakery is made in-house and by hand each day, from roasting meats to preparing sauces, jams, and soups. The goal has always been to provide high-quality baked goods at a fair price while delivering the freshest experience possible.

The newest addition is Saltwater Bookshop, located right next door. Lacey, a former bookseller, partnered with her friend Madison Duckworth to create a shop filled with cookbooks, local titles, children's books, puzzles, and a carefully selected collection of fiction and nonfiction.

Today, Borrowed Kitchen Bakery is still focused on making great food from scratch, welcoming everyone who walks through the door, and creating a place where people love to gather.
